Darren Hall has over 35 years of experience in the mining industry with a track record of increasing production, reducing costs, improving capital effectiveness, and promoting health, safety and business excellence. Mr.Hall has previously served as Chief Operating Officer of Kirkland Lake Gold, which acquired Newmarket Gold, where he also served as the Chief Operating Officer. Prior to Newmarket Gold, Mr.Hall worked for Newmont Mining Corporation where he held roles of increasing responsibility throughout the organization for almost 30 years. Mr.Hall graduated with a Bachelor of Mining Engineering (Hons) from the Western Australia School of Mines in Kalgoorlie.
Daniella DimitrovSenior VP and Chief Financial Officer
Daniella Dimitrov has over 20 years of experience in mining and capital markets. Prior to joining Calibre, she served as the CFO of IAMGOLD Corporation and, for a period, also as President and Interim CEO. Ms. Dimitrov's previous roles include Partner, Investment Banking, with Sprott Capital Partners, CEO and, prior to this, CFO of Orvana Minerals, Executive Vice Chair of Baffinland Iron and Chief Operating Officer of Dundee Securities. Ms. Dimitrov has also held various corporate development positions in mining and financial services. Furthermore, Ms. Dimitrov brings extensive governance experience, spanning more than 15 years, including with the Canadian Securities Administrators, Ontario's Mining Advisory group and several mining companies. Ms. Dimitrov holds a Global Executive MBA from the Kellogg School of Management and Schulich School of Business, a law degree from the University of Windsor and is a National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD) Directorship CertifiedTM. Ms. Dimitrov was previously chosen as one of the Top 100 Global Inspirational Women in Mining.
Ryan KingSenior VP Corporate Development and Investor Relations
Ryan King has over 15 years of experience in increasingly senior capacities in capital markets in the resource sector. Mr.King was previously responsible for leading the investor relations activities for Newmarket Gold, as the company completed a $2 billion transformational merger with Kirkland Lake Gold. Before joining Newmarket Gold, he was involved in starting Terrane Metals which owned the Mount Milligan Copper-Gold Project in British Columbia, Canada. From 2006 to 2010, Mr.King was involved in financing, corporate development, and investor relations for Terrane Metals as well as assisting with the acquisition of Terrane Metals in 2010 by Thompson Creek for $800 million. He brings an established approach to business in the natural resource sector, with specific and targeted applications for delivering shareholder value in the mining industry. During his career, he has assisted in raising $350 million for previous companies. Mr.King holds a Bachelor of Commerce from Royal Roads University in British Columbia, Canada. He currently sits on the Board of Newcore Gold and Edgewater Exploration Ltd.
Jason GreggSenior VP Human Capital
Jason Gregg has over 20 years of experience as a human resource professional. Prior to joining the Calibre team, Mr.Gregg served as Executive Vice President, Human Resources for Alio Gold. Before Alio Gold, he was the Vice President of HR, Safety and Environment for Newmarket Gold. Before joining Newmarket, Mr.Gregg provided HR consulting services to various mining organizations as well as other industries, including forestry and technology. Prior to developing his consulting practice, he worked as a Human Resources executive in the mining industry with Farallon Mining and Nyrstar. Mr.Gregg has also held senior level human resource roles with HDI, International Forest Products, Canadian Forest Products, and Teck. Mr.Gregg holds a BBA (1995) and an MBA (2000) from Simon Fraser University.
Petri SaloperaSenior VP Sustainability
Petri Salopera has over 20 years of experience leading multidisciplinary teams in the fields of sustainability, external relations, social performance, and corporate social responsibility. Mr.Salopera has held senior executive positions at Goldcorp, Rio Tinto, BHP and most recently as Country Manager - Ecuador and Chile for Newcrest Mining. Mr.Salopera brings extensive field experience in Latin America on community relations, environment, sustainability, government relations and media. His wide range of expertise also includes other private sector entities, academia, and non-governmental organizations. Mr.Salopera obtained a Masters in Anthropology, Development and Latin American Studies from the University of Helsinki, Finland, and other postgraduate studies from the Sustainable Minerals Institute, University of Queensland, Australia.
Tom GalloSenior VP Strategy and Growth
Tom Gallo has over 10 years of experience in the mining industry as a Project Geologist and Research Analyst. Prior to joining the Calibre team, Mr.Gallo was Vice President Equity Research at Canaccord Genuity, where he covered a variety of small cap mining companies in the precious metal sector. In 2020 Mr.Gallo was ranked in the top five Canadian equity analysts by TipRanks Market Research. Prior to becoming a top ranked mining analyst, he worked with what was then known as St. Andrews Goldfields (now Agnico Eagle Mining), where Mr.Gallo held various roles in the geology group, focused primarily on the Holt/Holloway mines. He and his team were responsible for the delineation of over 1Moz of gold resources in all categories. Mr.Gallo holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Western Ontario.
Kevin RileyVP Nevada Operations
Kevin Riley has over 35 years of experience as a Senior Manager in the mining industry, demonstrating success in safety, leadership, project management and cost control. Specializing in all areas of gold processing and mining, Mr. Riley has held increasingly senior level roles throughout his career, working in Russia and the United States. Prior to joining Nevada based Fiore Gold, now Calibre Mining, in 2017 as Process Manager of the Pan Mine, Mr. Riley worked at Newmont’s Cripple Creek & Victor Gold Mine in Colorado for 17 years in progressively more responsible operations roles involving mine management and process operations while implementing efficiencies and negotiating contracts in both production and maintenance. Previously, Mr. Riley worked as the Mill Manager at Kinross’ Kubaka Mine in Russia and, at the time, the Cyprus Amax Minerals’ Sleeper Mine in Nevada. Mr. Riley holds a B.Sc. Honours in Mineral Processing from the Montana College of Mineral Science and Technology.
David HendriksSenior VP Nicaraguan Operations
David Hendriks has over 25 years of experience in operations and project development within the mining industry where he has demonstrated success managing competing priorities, complex situations, and safely improving asset performance through team-based culture change and optimization implementation. Prior to joining Calibre, Mr.Hendriks was the VP and General Manager of Kinross Gold’s Tasiast mine in Mauritania Africa preceded by the same role at the Round Mountain mine in Nevada. Previously, he worked in Chile, Argentina, Canada, and the USA for Corona/Homestake/Barrick and Rayrock in progressively more responsible engineering and production roles. As an owner/operator of a successful small business in Nevada for eight years, Mr.Hendriks has strong ties to the local community. Mr.Hendriks holds a B.Sc. (Honours) in Mine Engineering from Queens University in Ontario Canada.
Jason CyrVice President, Canadian Operations
Jason Cyr has over 20 years of experience in operations and project development within the mining industry, demonstrating a commitment to project completion and optimization of mining operations for maximum productivity with cost-effectiveness, all while prioritizing safety at the highest standard. Prior to joining Calibre, Mr. Cyr served as the General Manager of Barrick Gold's Hemlo operation and held significant leadership roles at SSR Mining Company's Seabee Gold operation, Rio Grande Mining Company in Texas, USA, and Liberty Mines Inc. in Timmins, Canada. His achievements include overseeing the construction and operation of processing plants and mines through collaboration with various stakeholders. Mr. Cyr holds a Diploma in Mining Engineering Tech from the Haileybury School of Mines in Ontario.
